Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer, second only to smoking. Health experts attribute 7,000 to 21,000 lung cancer deaths every year, including many would have never smoked. The EPA has established 4 pCi/L* as the action level. The action level means the point at which corrective steps need to be taken. The EPA recommends that all houses have the radon level reduced to below 4 pCi/L.

The US indoor average level is 1.3 pCi/L and
the Salt Lake County average is 4.3 pCi/L.
That is above the action level.

Solution to Elevated Radon Levels
The fundamentals to reduce the radon levels is to “vacuum” the radon gas under the basement concrete floor and exhaust the radon gas to the outside. A hole is cut in the concrete floor; twenty gallons of gravel are removed; a PVC pipe is sealed to the hole; and a special fan is installed in the attic or outside. The built up radon gas is exhausted to outside.

A normal installation takes about one day. We warrant that we will reduce the radon average radon levels to below 4 pCi/L based upon a long term test.

Installed to EPA Protocol
We abide by the EPA mitigation protocol and install the systems to standard the
EPA 402R93078.
